Teaching Qualifications

Teaching of Theatre Arts with Trinity Guildhall — ATCL in Teaching.

These courses last 36 weeks and are held at PPA for 2 hours each week. During the courses students learn how to work with varying abilities, age groups and personalities. They work extensively on Health & Safety, child physiology, the History of Dance and Theatre and work on different methods of teaching. Students finish the teaching courses feeling they have the experience and the knowledge to fully prepare class plans and individual schemes of work.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Students are expected to complete 20 hours of teacher assisting for the course, which is a significant part of the final exam and essay, and will be arranged by PPA at the start of the course.

WHAT CAN I TEACH?

Upon completion of this exam students will be qualified and confident to teach in Drama, Dance and Theatre schools with children of varying ages and skills. Previous students now work at schools such as Stagecoach Theatre Arts and local independently run theatre schools.
